Perchè ho deciso di passare all'opensource ovvero a GNU/Linux? Le risposte sono diverse, potrei fare un piccolo elenco.

1- Avevo voglia di portare le mie capacità informatiche a un livello più elevato, e questo con un sistema windows non è possibile.
2- Non voglio più essere obbligato a non conoscere cosa gira sul mio PC.
3- Non voglio più essere costretto a pagare un PC più del dovuto perchè è preinstallato software proprietario che bisogna pagare (anche caro)
4- La sicurezza dei sistemi windows non è lontanamente paragonabile a quella dei sistemi UNIX-like, con GNU/Linux tutto quello che fai lo fai tu, che un software estraneo prenda il controllo della tua macchina è altamente improbabile, a meno che TU non gli dia l'autorizzazione.
5- Voglio imparare a muovermi in un ambiente non visuale e risolvere i problemi che mi si pongono davanti ragionandoci e imparando manualmente da me a risolverli.
6- La varietà di scelta, ovvero ci sono distro per tutti i gusti e tutto è configurabile in qualsiasi maniera si voglia.
7- Partecipando e contribuendo (anche solo segnalando bug) al progetto open-source se ne migliora continuamente la qualità.
8-Ormai (a parte i giochi) esiste compatibilità con la quasi totalità di hardware in circolazione.
9- Ultimo ma non meno importante, GNU/Linux è divertente! (provare per credere)

Why to choose open-source? Quite a lot of answers, here somes

1- I wanted to improve my informatic capacities, impossible with Windows OS.
2- I wanna know exactly what's written behind my monitor, and with Windows this is not possibile because source-code od Windows is not public.
3- I don't wanna but anymore a PC and pay it more just because there's a copy of Windows installed.
4- Windows system security it's much more bad (not paragonable) than UNIX-like systems, whatever you do with Linux, you know. It's almost impossible that a malware could take control of your system because to do that on GNU/Linux, should have right permissions, and if you're not a goose, you won't give.
5- I wanna learn to work in a non-visual environment and think myself how to solve possible problems i get, looking on what happens inside my system.
6- Variety, there are hundreds of distros and you can really change whatever you want in your environment.
7- Partecipating in open-source project means that it'll be better day after day, like a sort of evolution.
8- Still games are difficult to run under Linux, but by hardware side today there's a compatibility with (almost) the totality.
9- Least but not last, working with Linux is fun, really fun!
